Here is the development roadmap for the ANet project:

ANet 1.0

"Bootstrap"

The goal of version 1.0 is to have a set of features big enough to allow end-users to use the system.
It won't have fancy features. It includes the Chat, File Browsing and Download services, plus some "nice" features.
Tasks: 23, 30, 34, 36, 42, 58.
Deadline: December 15, 2002.

1.0a1:

Minimum required for the development of modules.
Task: 13.
Deadline: November 15, 2001.

1.0a2:

Basic query architecture.
Tasks: 25, 28, 31, 39, 57.
Deadline: January 1st, 2002.

1.0a3:

Basic static data.
Task: 49.
Deadline: February 15, 2002.

1.0a4

Basic TWDT.
Task: 53.
Deadline: April 1st, 2002.

1.0b1

Better chat.
Tasks: 11, 29, 32, 36, 46.
Deadline: May 15, 2002.

1.0b2

Better static data.
Tasks: 30, 51.
Deadline: July 1st, 2002.

1.0b3

Extra features.
Tasks: 12, 23, 34, 43.
Deadline: August 15, 2002.

1.0b4

Services.
Tasks: 59, 60, 61.
Deadline: October 1st, 2002.

ANet 1.5

"Open-minded"

This version is made to help developers outside the project in adding features and modules in the deamon.
This version will also mark the beginning of cross-platform development.
Tasks: 3, 7, 14, 20.
Deadline: July 1st, 2003.

ANet 2.0

"Kick-a**"

Many new features are added in this version. Some features might still be specific to Linux.
Includes advanced bandwidth management and encryption.
Tasks: 4, 6, 18, 19, 26, 27, 35, 37, 40, 42, 44, 47, 52, 54, 55, 56, 64
Deadline: January 1st, 2004.

ANet 2.5

"Uniform"

Starting with this version, all the features from version 2.0 will be available on all the supported platforms.
No new features are added.
Tasks: none
Deadline: July 1st, 2004.

ANet 3.0

"Bored"

The rest of the features is added.
Note that some of the tasks might be very difficult.
Tasks: 8, 15, 21, 24, 38, 41, 56, 62, 65.
Deadline: January 1st, 2005.
